Cologne-Bonn Airport
Project description
Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN) has shown dynamic growth in recent years, benefiting from the constant changes in the air transport market. CGN's core businesses, low-cost traffic and express freight, show above-average growth prospects over the long term.
Nevertheless, it is crucial for the long-term sustainability of CGN that the airport can offer airlines, service providers, and other users at CGN an attractive development perspective for the future. This includes a framework of suitable areas or facilities where users can develop their business tailored to suit their needs.
Despite some investments, the development perspective needed to be improved. Therefore, planeground was assigned to develop a new sustainable mission statement for 2045. This included a concept for urban and functional planning. It also aligned with the guidelines of modern and future- oriented airport infrastructure (aviation and non-aviation operations) within the context of economic efficiency.
